Our Story
Florida Metal Trading was founded in 2006 by Mohammed Motiwala, an immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1987 with nothing but a relentless work ethic and a dream of building a better life. After years of perseverance and hard work doing various jobs, he and his brother, Atik Motiwala, co-founded FMT with a simple yet powerful vision: to build a company that provides real opportunities for growth, fosters long-term partnerships, and upholds the values of integrity and trust.
From humble beginnings with just a small office and a handful of clients, FMT has grown into a respected name in the global metal recycling industry. Today, the company operates across multiple countries, connecting suppliers with end users worldwide and facilitating the sustainable reuse of valuable materials.
